Supergirl by Ricken

I stumbled upon a pic by Ricken the other day whilst lurking on Gelbooru and was immediately hooked, so much so that I knew right away that I wanted to feature him on my next Artist Spotlight. After doing a quick Google search I found his Deviant Art page (link below) and have been drooling over his artwork ever since.

I can’t quite put my finger on what initially drew me to Ricken’s style. I guess it really wasn’t just one thing – I love his whimsical yet thoughtful line work and soft, almost dream-like color palettes. Ricken’s style is Japanese anime meets western comic books with a dash of Bruce Timm thrown in for good measure. All of this equals a very striking and technique that is as fun to look at as I imagine it was to draw.

Even though I discovered Ricken on Gelbooru I wouldn’t call him a hentai artist. So why am I featuring him on MPL Toons? Just because Ricken doesn’t draw hardcore nudity doesn’t mean some of his pics aren’t highly erotic. Look at the Harley Quinn illustrations below (more after the jump) and tell me you don’t find them to be as hot, if not hotter, than the other hentai pics I post on my blog. Just because a character is getting all her orifices stuffed with tentacles and cum doesn’t necessarily make it “erotic”.

Does anyone know what the mythological creature this is that’s busting a nut in Wonder Woman? I was gonna say “minotaur” but the head doesn’t look like a bull, it looks like a horse. So if it has a horse head and a human body it’s pretty much the exact opposite of a centaur. Jesus, why am I so hung up on this? I shouldn’t care and just rub one out to this amazing piece by Reiq, for his hentai site JigglyGirls.com, but instead I am fixated. Someone help a brother out here, if it’s just a made-up creature by Reiq that’s fine but if it does in fact have a real name I would like to know. I did a search on Google for “What mythical creature has the head of a horse and body of a man?” and the answer was “Not a centaur”. Lol, thanks Google.

Obviously this is a bit of a different post from the norm but I just couldn’t decide which picture I wanted to post so I figured I’ll just post both!

Above we have Ben Newman’s digital painting of Wonder Woman if Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks were to play her. Personally I think she would make a good Amazonian ambassador IF she worked her ass off to get her body to the right point, her weight tends to fluctuate. The downside is that her massive tits would probably deflate a bit but then again that’s what push-up bras are for right? Christina Hendricks has the strength, sex appeal, curves and confidence to play Wonder Woman, all she needs to do is get her body there. It may sound mean but it’s true and keep in mind that I think she’s absolutely beautiful the way she is but Wonder Woman has to have a certain body to be a – umm – wonder woman.

On the other side of the coin is this amazing(ly pornographic) rendering by InCase of Wonder Woman tied up with her magical golden lasso and creampied – I doubt I’m the first person to type that sentence but it still felt very vulgar lol. InCase never misses the mark, when he decides to create a piece of hentai it’s always a home run and this pic of Wonder Woman is no exception. With every new piece of artwork InCase is quickly moving to the top of my favorite-hentai-artists list.

There you have it, two very different versions of the same character and the reason I love hentai!

I absolutely adore Dante Rain’s art style. It’s so clean and colorful yet erotic and slightly amusing (just look at Beastboy’s face lol). Those are not easy combinations to pull of but he does it with ease. This particular piece is the latest in a series of Teen Titans illustrations by Dante Rain on Hentai Foundry – It’s also my favorite one in said series. I loved the whimsical nature of the Teen Titans Go! cartoon back in the day as well as the animation style so to see someone nail every aspect of that show as well as injecting hardcore porn into the scenario makes my nose bleed! Definitely keep your eyes on Dante Rain and watch his Hentai Foundry portfolio for follow-up pieces, I know I will be.

Let me start out by saying that you need to be reading Veidt.com. Ummm actually let me go back to the beginning and start out by saying that this post is in no way shape or form a paid advertisement by Veidt.com, this is my personal opinion.

Now let me go back to saying that you need to be reading Veidt.com. ‘Why’ you ask? Well for starters you get awesome cosplay sets like this one – Marnie as Arisia Rrab – and you get them for free! “What, you mean I don’t have to pay for a membership?” No! Wow, what a concept right? See the thing is Veidt.com is my favorite little corner of the internet that not too many people know about. The site is run by one super nerd girl and she has no problem giving her honest geeky opinion on anything related to comics, movies, TV shows, and video games.

The reason I am using my own little modest website to tell everyone about Veidt.com is because in a world filed with full page flash ads (I’m looking at you IGN and Destructoid) it’s nice to see a site succeeding without obstructing the readers view or punching them in the face. Veidt.com is the first site I check every morning and while it might not update everyday, when it does I read every word. You know how there are some comics, games, or movies that are really good but not too many people know about them and you try to tell as many people as possible that they should be reading, playing, or watching them? For me that’s Veidt.com.

Words can barely describe how turned on I am by this piece. It’s truly outstanding. Ok so first of all, like a lot of nerds I have been playing the fuck out of Arkham City for the past couple of weeks. Needless to say I am in a pretty ravenous Batman mood so when I saw this rendering of Harley Quinn bound and with a mouth full of semen I pretty much instantly busted a nutt in my pants. Awesome…absolutely awesome.

Deadpool and Typhoid Mary

This past weekend marked the debut of Comikaze Expo 2011 - Downtown LA’s first big attempt to take on San Diego Comic Con but unlike SDCC it left much to be desired. Sure it takes awhile for conventions to build momentum and all that but if I hadn’t purchased tickets a few months ago I would have thought that the Comikaze Expo was put together at the last minute.  There was a pretty big turn out of fans but the problem was there just wasn’t a whole lot that interested me – No big vendors, no big companies that I saw besides Top Cow, the celebrities were C level at best, and there wasn’t a lot of cosplayers.

I really hope the owners of the convention made enough money to warrant doing it again next year because I would love to see Comikaze Expo grow. It’s in a great location and, as we know with E3, Downtown LA can certainly handle the influx of people. The weekend wasn’t a total loss though, I did get a few good cosplay pics while I was there. Raven is one Teen Titan you definitely don’t want to piss off. Aaaannnnd that’s all I can really say at this point. I never really thought about it before but I don’t think I know what Raven’s powers are. Weird, I used to watch the Teen Titans cartoon back in the day and I always thought Raven was kinda hot in the comics but I guess I never paid too much attention to her powers…yet somehow I know this rendering fits the character. Man, I’m just striking out here aren’t I?

Regardless of my lack of Teen Titans knowledge this is still a fucking hot pic.
